Today: Swim with Friends During Aflac's Virtual Duck Race

If you've ever wanted to run a 5K, but couldn't, stop by the Aflac Duck's Facebook page today to see a virtual duck race on their "Swim With Friends" app. During the last month, Aflac has been raising money to fight pediatric cancer - for every $12 donation, people were given one entry into the virtual duck race, along with a plush commemorative rubber duck. Aflac has been matching every donation, with all proceeds going to the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
On top of the virtual duck race, there was a number of other ways to get involved:
- On the "Swim With Friends" Facebook app, people can share drawings from current Aflac Cancer Center patiens and nurses online. For every drawing shared on Facebook, Aflac donates $2 to the Cancer Center.
- Retweeting the Aflac Duck on Twitter and sharing other posts from the Aflac Duck Facebook page - for every retweet and share, Aflac donates $2.
- On September 6, Aflac also hosted a live Twitter chat with a current Aflac Cancer Center patient and Director of Clinical Research. Every participatory tweet with the hashtag #aflackids led to another $2 donation from Aflac. In the midst of both the DNC and VMAs, #AflacKids became a trending topic nationwide.
