Digitas today announced the promotion of Dave Marsey, formerly SVP, Media Practice Lead, to the newly created role of EVP, Managing Director of Digitas San Francisco effective February 1. Digitas San Francisco, located at 2001 The Embarcadero, is a full-service office with over 70 employees and serves as digital agency lead for Taco Bell, eBay and Kaiser Permanente. Marsey will report to Doug Ryan, Director, Chicago and San Francisco.
In this new role, Marsey will lead the agency's West Coast capabilities while working with existing leadership that includes Sarah Montague, SVP, Relationship Manager; Matt Jacobs, SVP, Strategy and Analysis; and Eric Dean, Executive Director, Creative.
“Based on the office’s accelerated growth, we looked in our own backyard and turned to Dave because of his demonstrated ability to strategically lead clients, secure vital partners, and contribute to the intellectual property and public profile of Digitas,” said Ryan. “In short, Dave is a great fit who will join forces with leadership to create a true all-star lineup for Digitas San Francisco.”
Marsey demonstrates true digital marketing and media pioneering with his approach to digital marketing and media, grounded in the philosophy of “Creadia”: where media and creative are intricately linked, where media ideas derive from creative and creative ideas derive from media.
He received the 2012 Excellence in Teaching Award from the University of Chicago as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Chicago’s Graham School of General Studies, a position that he’s held for the past 10 years. Marsey teaches Web Marketing Strategies, with a curriculum that is personalized to reflect current trends, which provides an immediate impact on students’ daily professional work.
Prior to working at Digitas, Dave was Vice President/Account Director at ID Media (part of DraftFCB), where he led the Chicago Online Media practice. He also spent time with Avenue A, in Chicago, and was with Scient/iXL for five years.
