Digitas NewFront 2013: Our speakers in five words or less

The Digitas NewFront returns in just two weeks! From top brands to the world’s biggest social networks, we’re bringing together the leading innovators, instigators, and doers in digital content to explore the conversations happening around brands in real-time.

In advance of the NewFront, we asked some of our speakers to send us five words or less about their upcoming sessions onstage; something that exemplifies the meaning behind their work. Here’s what they had to say:

- “Your city is alive” - Blake Shaw, Data Scientist, Foursquare

- “Everything is happening right now” – Douglas Rushkoff, Author, “Present Shock”

- “Fragmented storytelling in real time” - Alison Norrington, Founder, StoryCentral

- “Creativity without Constraints, Limitless Expression” - David Karp, Founder and CEO, Tumblr

- “Serendipity, Rewarding, Delight, Moments, Happiness” - Brian Wong, Founder and CEO, Kiip

You can hear from more of our speakers on Twitter here. And don’t forget to watch the Digitas NewFront live on May 2nd. Be sure to tweet #NewFronts to join the conversation.

Watch Live: Jordan Bitterman at MediaPost's Video Insider Summit

April 5th Update: Couldn't make it to Jordan's keynote? MediaPost has published recaps of some of Jordan's insights here and here. Plus there's video from part of his session below. Check it all out to see what Jordan had to say about the current state of digital video, the NewFront, and more.

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________-

Starting in a few minutes: watch Digitas' Jordan Bitterman, SVP, North America Lead for Social, Mobile, and Content, deliver the opening keynote at MediaPost's first annual Video Insider Summit. Check out the description and live video of his speech below.

Digital video has an image crisis. It hasn't (yet) reached its potential. Infrastructure isn't as sound as it needs to be. Brands aren't spending as much as they should and we don't yet have a portfolio of big success stories to catapult the sector from adolescence to maturity. But there's good news: our industry -- comprised of executives from brands, agencies and media & technology companies -- has built a foundation to sustain the next big category in media and marketing. By examining the current digital video paradigm, we can begin to chart a course for the future.

Digitas Chicago Honored as One of Crain's Chicago Business' "Best Places to Work" 2013

Crain’s Chicago Business has honored Digitas Chicago on its "Best Places to Work 2013" list for the fourth time in five years. The only marketing agency to be consistently honored, Digitas Chicago is heralded for its caring company environment and wide range of benefits that include financial adoption assistance, employee affinity groups, pet health insurance and annual reimbursement for health and wellness expenses.

As quoted in Crain’s, Digitas Chicago aims to “help employees keep in touch with each other,” says Nicole Stanley, VP/Group Director, Talent. “It’s not a benefit you can put a dollar amount on.”

This recent addition to Digitas Chicago’s impressive list of accolades speaks to its strong company culture. Digitas Chicago was ranked #6 “Best Places to Work in Illinois” by The Business Ledger and the Best Companies Group for the fourth consecutive year. Recently, the agency has also been honored as a “Top Workplace” by the Chicago Tribune, and an Elite Winner in “Chicago 101’s Best and Brightest Places to Work For” by the National Association of Business Resources.

Digitas North America has won over 30 Best Places to Work awards in just three years.

Digitas offers pet health insurance to employees—they get their choice of veterinarian plus a discount on pet supplies and services—and a day's paid bereavement when a pet dies. Pictured is Jovana Bursac and her dog, Kifla. (Photo: Tori Sopher)
